Sculpture on the Gulf

Since February 2003, in a much-loved biennial exhibition, Maitiatia Coastal Walkway on Waiheke Island is transformed into an artscape like no other. An acclaimed collection of distinctive contemporary landscape sculptures dress an iconic headland, as if in a stunning cloak of art.

For the 2022 Sculpture on the Gulf event, under the direction of the SOTG Chairman of the time, Warwick Grey – the aspirational and campaignable brand story of ‘Art & Nature. Elevated, was developed. This brand story flowed through the identity system and provided a beautiful framework for communications.

The existing wordmark and typography was refreshed and contemporised, along with a fresh colour palette which drew on the natural landscape of the exhibition setting.
